Free money- Who really pays for it.

Wow, I have read so many requests for assistance grants and I am dumbfounded that People feel as if a free grant is the answers to thier prayers... It isn't. I came here to find a willing investor for a small business I have. I have no intention to ask for free money to make my life better moreover that perhaps someone would get  the ideal that Our government is severely overfed. Downsize it, keep your hard earned money in your pockets and then do with it what you will. To have the mindset that we, need or should have benefits to help us live our lives is quite frankly the reason we're in the mess we are in today. Nothing comes freely, everything has a cost. Are you really willing to pay for it? Because it will most assuredly be more then you can afford. Sorry folks for the dismal rain on the free parade but please consider doing more for yourselves.. Do more for you.... things will come.

I totally understand what you are saying.  I believe there are people out there who truly need that helping hand.  I know I am probably not one of them.  I will take your advice and try it on my own.  I honestly feel my business would contribute to the community and that is my goal, not just the income.

Thanks!

God Bless you!

Thanks Katt!

I relate to you having children that are disabled and in school.  But by God's grace, my son was put into a special program for his disability, which is Autism.  I hope that you can find help with your children that will benefit you and the entire family:)

God Bless you and yours!

Thank you!  I will pray for you and know that God has a plan for all of us.  You truly deserve a grant or investor moreso than I do.  I actually have a job right now, but my husband is disabled and wants to contribute and that is how I came up with an idea that would benefit myself and the community.  My dream is to open a "thrift shop", not a boutique, but a place lower income people can come and get something nice and I can cover my costs and survive!

Its not a complete total handout most people are looking for.Sometimes there just asking for a little help when they've lost just about everything. Some of these people are living out of their vehicles with childeren to feed and not by choice.Work in some states just isnt available, in others its slim pickings. And sorry minimum wage will barely support one person, whats someone with childeren supposed to do when over half your pay check goes straight to child care so you can make to your 9 to 5 job.Dont think we're all hear for a hand out most would probably be more then willing to pay the government back when they get back on their feet. If people can't afford to feed their familys how can they pay interest from loan or credit cards or even qualify for them for that matter.Im glad things sound like there going good for you i hope it stays that way.But it'd be some shitty irony if you ever find youself in the same spot some of these others are in.

Hey, sorry to hear about your circumstance... Look, for me, finding someone who'd invest in this small business of mine would be awesome for me. I need so many things... but reality meets real world so I am turning my storefront into an apartment in the back and me and my four kids are moving in. (not real kids) four-legged ones. I hope to be up and paying off equipment when I have no more rent for a home to pay but that's going to be what it takes for me. Not saying everyone else in here doesn't not need or deserve grants... but I say try and increase your liquid assets... get yourself a business plan, get to your local sba and see what's out there for you.. pains though you'd have more if you were Iraqi and a visa guest.... Sad sad sad.... I am sorry and I take no offense but please no I wasn't generalizing either. I just read what was here.

Bye and I got two hands for praying for you and I promise to use them both.

After reading the posts that you both have left, I feel that both of you are right.  I belive that there are a lot of free loaders out there that want nothing but a free ride and for someone else out there to pay for it.  But there are people like myself that were severely injured in an on the job accident.  I am permantly disabled and have been told by 11 specialist that my aspirations of returning to work are slim to none.  This was a hard blow for me.  I have always held down two jobs that were physically demanding.  Now I am left on SDI and feeling that there has to be more than this for me.  As most of you know out there, SDI pays horribly and is a dead end road for a lot of people.  I for one, do not belive that theory.  I still feel that I have something to contribute to this world and would like the opportunity to try.  The only thing holding me back right now is the financial ability to afford the costs of doing so.  My husband would like to start a business.  A deli actually.  He would handle the on hands part of the business and I would handle the financial end.  Such as ordering, books, payroll, etc. .  We are not one of those couples out there looking for free hand outs but would like to also find investors or someone willing to take a chance giving us a personal loan.  We are good, honest people with good hearts and the willingness to try and make a difference in our lives.

So when I hear people layout unfair generalizations of how people are out there begging off for free money it hurts my feelings.  That is not what this site was intended for or what we were looking for either.  I would like honest leads or more like honest people who know the answers to my questions and know how to point us in the right direction.

That's my opinion.  Sorry to anyone it offends.

Peace to all.....

I understand where you are coming from my point is that there are people who are doing everything they can and still don't make enough to survive I have been struggling for 3 years to keep my head above water I have had to Deal with the department of Social Services when they removed my stepdaughter from her mother and the court systems to get her into a stable safe home with me I have 2 other children that are disabled and have lost numerous jobs because I always had to leave to go to the schools for the children i would receive 6-7 phone calls a day about it now I am unemployed and stuck in a bad spot and yes I am stuck I have exhausted all the routes I know and even ones suggested the fact of the matter is that there are people looking for a free ride...but there are also people who are just looking for a steping stone to help them along after years of struggle

That is a free hand out... Grants that no one need to repay???? where do you think this money comes from? This country is in serious need of reform and it will only start if people realize that a government taking care of them isn't the way to go. Whatever happened to hard work and sacrificing for the things you really want, believe in?  Read the posts in here... I sympothize with people and thier plights but needing a grant to purchase a house or go on a student trip to Europe or enter college or better yet, repay a loan that was given to a student at a discounted price in the first place is well, lazy and self centered. The time is now... not everyone was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I lived in Michigan where you were solicited to go on assistance.... The government wants to entice people to move over to socialism... We are American's who should run so far and so fast from this indictment that they could see our dust for miles!

Please do not get me wrong.... I just mean that a grant for this or that will cost you more in the long run... if you don't have enough inside of you to start that small business your wanting to then you won't have enough inside you to run it either.. It's hard out here and it will only get tougher.   Thanks

I don't think most of these posts are looking for a free hand out I believe like myself they are looking for some help with getting resources and support to be able to be independent
